Fluid Film Bearing Analysis and Design
The Rotor Bearing Solutions International team has over 50 years of combined experience in the area of industrial fluid film bearing analysis and design. The types of journal and thrust fluid film bearings that can be accurately modeled and designed include:
- Fixed Pad Journal Bearings – plain journal, axial groove, multi-lobe, offset half, tapered land, floating bush, pressure dam, hydrostatic, hydraulic lift, floating bush, and oil ring lubricated.
- Tilting Pad Journal Bearings – with any useful number of pads – including full pad dynamics.
- Thrust Bearings – with plain flat top, Rayleigh step, shrouded Rayleigh step, tapered land, and tilting pad configurations.
- Squeeze Film Dampers – with centering springs or no centering springs, end seals, and other physical characteristics
- Custom Fluid Film Bearing Software – various special analysis software for fluid film bearings can be written and the software provided to the end user with a manual
- New, Advanced Fluid Film Bearing Software – New, innovative fluid film bearing software for industrial use is under development.
The RBSI team can model fluid effects including turbulence, thermal effects, and mechanical and thermal deformations.
